Almost Online Shopping!

As I’m sure you’ll identify, my time is really precious as a ‘part-time working mum’, so I was delighted to discover that Village Spar offers an ‘almost online shopping’ option whereby customers can email their shopping orders to a dedicated address (village.orders@sparcorpretail.com) and they will do your grocery shopping for you to collect.  All you have to do is put it through the till

Potty Training : Highs and Lows!

Although I’d been advised against potty training until my toddler told me she didn’t want to wear a nappy anymore, I decided to give it a bash one Saturday morning…seven weeks ago and counting!  I can’t say how much quicker the process would have been if I’d waited…I only know I felt strongly encouraged (!) having attended one of our Toddler Group meet-ups and

Surviving Time Apart!

I was recently required to travel overseas to attend a training course.  Needless to say, I was torn between sheer excitement at the prospect of having a break and on the other hand, anxiety about leaving my dear one, even though I knew I would leave her in the most competent hands. Well, as you might have gathered, I survived!  I guess I considered

Strength in Troubled Times

As a Christian mum, I feel blessed to have a relationship with the Lord, who genuinely is my only source of strength at times, and invariably my only peace in the storms of life. You will all know that feeling of finally resting your head on your pillow at the end of a long and tiring day, only to hear your little one begin

Holiday Playgroup!

Phew…we’re almost at the end of six weeks of school holidays!  I feel guilty saying it, but I don’t think I’ve EVER looked forward to ‘going back to school’ before… Having recently returned to work, albeit in a part-time capacity (!), I was utterly daunted at the prospect of the long break.  I didn’t want to leave my 2-year old at home with the

Affordable Toddler Fun at Home!

Having been inspired by a ‘pin’ on our ‘School Holiday Inspiration’ board, I decided to try my hand at ‘Cornflour Slime’ as an activity for my ‘almost 2-and-a-half year-old’ yesterday afternoon.  I think it’s fair to say it was a raving success…in fact, I’m not sure who enjoyed it more?! It didn’t take long to set up and it kept us both entertained for

School Holiday Fun!

My little girl of ‘almost 2 and a half’ attended the Kidisportz Art and Craft Holiday Programme with Belinda and Casey, this week.  Having been slightly anxious at the outset, mainly because I wasn’t familiar with the setup, I was soon put at ease, as my daughter, who is a very sensitive child, obviously felt comfortable and was happy to go to Belinda, almost immediately.

Children’s Party Idea

Having attended a toddler’s party on Saturday morning, I just had to share with you what I thought was a really novel and fun alternative to a birthday cake.  Each child was given a cupcake which they decorated using an array of brightly coloured icing and sprinkles.  They thoroughly enjoyed participating in this way before devouring their personalised cakes. I know I’m not the only mum who

Great Excitement at Tamba Tamba!

Although I was privileged to have a sneak peak of Tamba Tamba at the beginning of July, I was really excited to take my little girl of 2 and 3 months there this afternoon, as our Toddler Group had arranged to meet there.  Having ventured to Fun Zone shortly after its opening, I think I was possibly better prepared for the crowds of children

Diamonds in the Rough

I just have to share with you my sheer joy after a ‘good’ day!  Having been battling another cold for the past 10 days or so,, my little girl of 2 and 3 months just hasn’t been herself, although I was beginning to wonder if I’d just imagined there being ‘good’ days and recent behaviour was in fact the new ‘normal’!! Today, however, was one
