Zimbabas was started by a mum for other mums (and dads!), to provide local information about products and services for babies and young children, and to support parents in the early stage of parenthood. Having worked in the disability sector in the UK, it struck me there was little information or support for people whose children have behavioural problems or health conditions, which is why I've included a section dedicated to 'Support Organisations'. Even though most of them are based in the UK, their websites are full of useful advice.
Our weekly email newsletter, ZimbabaNEWS, was introduced in April 2012, closely followed by our website which has recently benefited from a complete facelift. We hope you will easily find what you're looking for, however, if you don't, please let us know as we really want our website to be as user-friendly as possible so it becomes a 'one stop shop' for parents in Harare (although we're tempted to say Zimbabwe, we realise that would be getting a bit ahead of ourselves at this stage, but watch this space!)
One of our dreams is for this site to become a support forum, where parents feel comfortable sharing their experiences with one another, and they can draw encouragement from other people in the same boat as them, when they need it most! In the meantime, you might wish to read our blog on our community page.
If you don’t already receive our newsletter, simply fill in your details on the bottom of this page.
